He has been a member of La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church for fifteen years, serving as an Elder and Deacon while attending the church. Stan first discovered his love of working with elementary school children while working at Forest Home Christian Conference Center, during the summers of his high school and college years.

While working as a police officer Stan was a Drug Abuse Resistance Education ( DARE ) instructor for five years teaching in the Claremont Unified School District and founded the Adopt A Cop Program pairing police officers with elementary school children developing strong relationships between children and police officers.

Stan firmly believes that helping young children develop important life skills is one way to insure their success in becoming a happy, healthy, productive member of society.

Stan has been a volunteer at Pomona Hope since 2014 and really enjoys working with the 4th-6th graders. Stan feels that the Pomona Hope program is an excellent opportunity for young and older kids to grow in so many positive ways. Pomona Hope teaches them positive relationships with other children and adults, develops self confidence, and helps them move in a positive direction as they become young adults.
